A Romeo and Juliet love story for a modern young adult audience, I greatly enjoyed Forbidden Love. Though Amy is a princess, her seemingly-simplistic life is turned on its head when she falls in love with Darien, prince of the earth kingdom. Amy's mother does not approve of the match and she sends Amy away. Though Darien finds Amy, their troubles are far from over as Amy learns about a brother she never had and the Pond Water Prince threatens to tear the two apart. And it only gets better from there! Though there is no shortage of conflict in this tale, be assured that Amy and Darien will find their happily ever after, but it will be quite a battle before they do. Diana Rose's debut novel demonstrates that a character is never to young to fall in love, and love has the power to win out in the end over any forces of evil that may threaten it. Escape into another world with this most unique story!
The story reflects the true Young Adult Romance novel genre. Its opening sequence reminded me of "Ella of Frell" and the plot, although different than that movie, proved equally delightful. The attention to the protagonist's conflicting emotions regarding first-love recalls the descriptions given of Isabella Swan in the "Twilight Saga" series in that the protagonist's every thought, and every emotion becomes known to the reader. The visual descriptions of the story's scenes are vivid. Most astounding to me, although I much prefer Science Fiction to YA Romance, the plot held my interest. All in all, I found the book a wonderful read.

Diana Rose spins a YA story reminiscent of the Grimm Brothers' fairy tales we grew up with. The characters are magical and the settings lush. This is an unusual and colorful novel!

I found Forbidden Love, to be a wanderous, adventurous, story of love to be quite interesting. Who doesen't enjoy the word love? If you don't, then after reading Forbidden Love, you will have a new lease on Love. The author took our minds back in time, mixed with a taste of todays technology. The pages will keep you glued, cheering on Amy, Princess of the Moon Kingdom and Darien, Prince of the Earth Kingdom. Amy's strong will, to gain her independence from her mom, gives her the ammonition needed to fight for her love and freedom. I look forward to reading more on this Love Kingdom series. I love new authors, watching their growth and Ms. Rose, came out batting a winning season, so her growth is about to bloom, for the world to recognize. I give this book 3 stars on idea alone, then a 2 for originality, Well that gives this book a big 5***** for me.
